Not much to write about this week as it’s been a relatively light week as far as boat work goes. I spent most of the week in bed sick, and when I began to feel better we got a few things done. Everyone around us is amazed that we’re not scrambling about and all stressed out, I guess it pays to start early. It really helped working with lots of lists and with a goal in mind.
Rigging Tuned - We had Kevin from Stix-n-Rign come over and tune our rigging. Thanks Kevin! Varnish - Anne finished varnishing the companionway doors and trim, and all we can say is ‘wow’! 12 coats of Schooner and it looks like glass. Family Visits - David’s parents, grandmother and uncle all came in for the weekend to visit before we took off. It was great to see them all again and we really enjoyed their visit. Fishing Rods - Took two of the fishing poles in to West Marine and had new line put on the rods. Sold David’s Car - I was really worried about waiting until the last minute to sell David’s car, but as it turned out the timing was pretty good. We had the ‘for sale’ sign in the windshield for two days, lots of interest and the first offer made was good enough for us. We cannot say thanks enough to Pam and Dan (s/v Parlay) for letting us use their van while we are without a car. It would have been impossible to provision or visit my family with out their generosity. Helped Friends - Spent all day Wednesday with Jim and Lauren on their Tayana 42 center cockpit, s/v Coin Toss. Helped them install a new battery charger, a new 630 amp hour battery bank, and a new engine start battery. Had lots of fun working with them. Thanks for the great dinner Jim and Lauren!
