Ship's Log

"Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and proclaiming loudly----WOW----What a ride!" unknown author

We departed Kemah Texas in November 2004 to begin our cruise and traveled to Florida via the Gulf Coast ICW. In 2005 We left Florida and made our way to Guatemala via Mexico and Belize. Our adventures will continue as we leave in the fall of 2006 for Honduras and Panama, and anywhere else the wind will take us. Whenever we have the opportunity to access the internet we will update this site with new information, so be sure to come back and see how and what we’re doing!

Our Guests - These are some for the guests we’ve enjoyed aboard Bruadair.

Photo Galleries - Want to skip reading the journals and go right to the photo galleries? Then click this link for a listing of photo galleries that are available.

2008 - Bruadair departs Bocas del Toro with destinations of Colon, San Blas Islands and Cartagena Colombia. Boat survey, helping others and still having fun!

2007 - Lots of repairs and upgrades and more time exploring the Bay Islands of Honduras fill the beginning of the year. A direct hit from a small waterspout and an encounter with potential pirates make for an exciting trip to the Colombian islands of Providencia and San Andreas. New adventures and new friends in Panama, a distress call put out as Bruadair is boarded by an intruder and exploring the bays around Bocas.

2006 - The year starts with us still at Monkey Bay Marina on the Rio Dulce in Guatemala. While waiting out the hurricane season in Guatemala many projects and maintenance tasks are completed. In October  Bruadair and her crew untie the dock lines at the marina and leave for the Bay Islands of Honduras. Good cruising along the island of Roatan and new friends keeps everyone busy.

2005 - After having lots of fun in St. Petersburg, Florida and making so many new friends it was time to leave and head to the Western Caribbean. These logs includes our one week trip to the Manatee River, the Gulf of Mexico crossing to Isla Mujeres Mexico, through reef islands of Belize and on to the Rio Dulce in Guatemala where we will wait out hurricane season.

2004 - The logs for 2004 includes some of our local cruises here on Galveston Bay with trips to Double Bayou and Galveston and our 10 day shakedown cruise to Freeport Texas. Also found here are the logs of our journeys when we left Texas in November and made our trip to St. Petersburg Florida via the Gulf Coast ICW, through the states of Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida.

2003 - Some day sails on Galveston Bay and weekend trips to Double Bayou.

Isla Mujeres, Mexico - Includes information such as cost of living, check-in procedures, and things to do and see.
