September 2005

During the second week of this month we moved our boat across the river to Monkey Bay Marina where we will be taking over as managers in November. Damon has decided to fly back to California in October to take care of some personal business for a couple of months and David will remain behind running the marina. We hope to get a couple of months to return back to Belize on Bruadair and will again be here on the Rio next year for hurricane season.

On September 13th we made a trip down to Guatemala City to pick up Damon’s parents, Kathie and Steve. For the next three weeks we rented a car and traveled to many different towns within Guatemala seeing Mayan ruins, nature preserves, volcanos and so much more. One day was also spent traveling to a remote village where we donated much needed clothes and school supplies, and even we will never forget. We spent the last few days with Kathie and Steve relaxing and enjoying great food in Guatemala City until they left on October 4th.

Below are several photo galleries of our journeys with links to more information about each place.
