Bourbon Chicken

1 lb. Chicken leg or thigh meat Cut in bite size chunks
4 oz. Soy sauce 
1/2 C. Brown sugar 
1/2 tsp. Garlic powder
1 tsp. Powdered ginger
2 Tbsp. Dried minced onion
1/2 C. Jim Beam Bourbon Whiskey
2 Tbsp. White wine

 

1. Mix all the marinade ingredients and pour over chicken pieces in a bowl.
2. Cover and refrigerate (stirring often) for several hours (best overnight).
3. Bake chicken at 350 for one hour in a single layer, basting every 10 minutes.
4. Remove chicken.
5. Scrape pan juices with all the brown bits into a frying pan.
6. Heat, and add 2 Tbs. white wine.
7. Stir and add chicken. 8. Cook for 1 minute and serve.

 

(Note: This can be made on the stove top in a large skillet should you so choose. If you should get this on your stove, be sure and clean up quickly or you’ll have a heck of a time trying to get it cleaned up later!!)

 

For those of you that have never cooked with wine or whiskey for that matter, it is essential for the flavor of this dish. ALL alcohol is burned off during the cooking process. So this dish is legal for those that are under 21 years of age!
